GUIDE 12 / Design and assets
Hardware illustration
The reusable visual brief for raw concept sketches, kept separate from manufacturing CAD.
The current production asset is public/assets/prototype-rough-v1.png, generated with the built-in image-generation tool. The reusable brief below describes its visual language; it is not a manufacturing specification.
Use case: stylized-concept.
Asset type: editorial hardware illustration for an open physical-robot build journal.
Subject: a DIY CoreXY robot with a rectangular extrusion frame, linear rails, belts, two stepper motors, a movable capacitive stylus, a camera overlooking the phone, and a clearly recognizable iPhone 14 held face-up in the center. The phone has a black bezel, top notch, rounded corners, sketched app icons and a bottom home indicator. Keep it prominent and unobstructed.
Style: raw black ink, graphite construction lines, rough charcoal crosshatching, red grease-pencil accents, imperfect doubled outlines, subtle measurement ticks and restrained gray marker shadows.
Composition: landscape 3:2, elevated three-quarter perspective, complete mechanism in frame, readable silhouette, warm off-white paper and generous surrounding space.
Palette: studio red #ce1019, charcoal #141414, warm paper #f3eee5, gray/chrome details.
Constraints: conceptual workshop sketch, not a photograph of a finished machine or a glossy CAD render. No characters, written labels, logos, watermarks or fake paragraphs. Add real typography in HTML.
The original generation audit is retained privately with the working records. Public financial and CAD data remain separate from decorative art.
